The Carolina Cup Racing Association is the governing authority of the Springdale Race Course which is owned by the State of South Carolina. Management is vested by the Board of Directors to the Race Director, John L. Cushman, who is a former leading steeplechase jockey and businessman. Upon his retirement at the close of 1998, Jeffrey (Jeff) Teter will become the new Racing and Hope Cooper will be the Director of Administration. The mission of the Association is the ongoing support of the Kershaw County Medical Center.
